People Who Wear Watches Really Are Superior

Post by koimaster » May 22nd 2020, 7:03pm

One of the unexpected side-effects of recent events is that, while working from home, I have found that I have more time than I'd have thought to explore some of the less well-trodden byways of horological culture. Recently I ran across a scientific study – while looking for something entirely unrelated, I might add – which was originally published by researchers at the University of Glasgow, College of Science & Engineering and which looks at the personality traits associated with wristwatch

We wear watches because we are better people. Yeah, damned right we are!

Look at our auctions, our members’ search for truth in the industry. Look at our support for one another.

The Cheeto eating, basement dwelling gang tells us that the study is total bullshit or, more likely, that TeeVee crap they wear is not really a watch.

The whole TIPI thing and its supposed link to wearing watches is highly illogical. Even the most lousy and shapeless cluster of plotted data will have its line of best fit, but that doesn't mean it makes any sense. Remind me, why do I usually think low of sociologists?

People who wear watches are not millennials, which ipso facto makes them inherently superior.
I am a millennial who wears watches, which fact - due to my very existence - makes me a perfectly material paradox. This, in turn, makes me inherently and vastly superior to the point at which I could well proclaim myself a deity.
