For the neat drinkers

Post by bbattle » May 21st 2020, 11:42am

I've got a bit of a collection of whisky glasses and always have my eyes open for something new or different.

My latest find is the Norlan glass. It's hand blown, double walled borosilicate glass. Not meant to have ice cubes or stones in it.

Jamesons has never tasted better. I need to get to the store for some nice Scotch and give that a try.

That's nice. Alas, I prefer my booze on the rocks - three cubes will do.

Neat. Sort of like a Glencairn in a glass cage.
Yes, indeed.

I have some Glencairn with the glass tops.

The added width of the Norlan makes it easier to hold and the heat of your hand isn't transferred to the spirits.

I once ordered a single malt Scotch neat and the waiter brought me something in a tall glass with TONS of ice. "What the hell is that?" I politely asked.

I edjumacated him on the definition of the word "neat" as pertaining to whisky.

All of this has me thinking of braving the coronysteria and visiting my local whisky bar.

I drank a bottle and a half of this the other night, and all by myself.
