Either my watch has stopped or this man is dead
Nothing says Swiss like cheese - and nothing says Cheese like Invicta!
.... "with a face that could stop a clock."
"A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two watches is never quite sure."
It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
"I've seen better looking faces on a clock!"
Why do they call a watch a watch? Nobody watches a watch...You look at a watch or may peek at your watch....Why don't they call it a look?
even a broken watch is right twice a day :)
"Time is money....money is time"
“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.”
"He is winding the watch of his wit; by and by it will strike."--William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616), The Tempest, Act II scene 1
''from dream to reality, from the imagination to the wrist'' - Edouard Heuer.
''live every second like you mean it'' - Jean-Christophe Babin
the watch may stop, but time never does!
"My watch doesn't tell the time; you have to read it."
"Pipes are occasionally of extraordinary interest. Nothing has more individuality, save perhaps watches and bootlaces." - SH
You wanna have a good time, you gotta have a good watch.
Another watch quote from "Casablanca":
Rick - "If it's December, 1941 in Casablanca, what time is it in New York?"
Sam - "I...my watch stopped..."
Rick - "I bet they're asleep in New York. I bet they're asleep all over the world! Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world!...She walks into mine..."
- "Casablanca" (1942).
And there's another one in Sherlock Holmes. It's from the opening chapters of "The Sign of Four". Dr. Watson gives Holmes his pocket-watch so that Holmes can practice his deductive analysis on it. I can't find a copy of the chapter, but he manges to determine:
1. The owner was once very wealthy (The watch cost 10 guineas).
2. His fortunes have changed (The watch is old and hasn't been repaired or replaced).
3. It's a family heirloom (Family initials are engraved on it).
4. The man who owned it (Watson's brother) was a drunkard. There are lots of scratch-marks where the winding-key hasn't been properly inserted, which would suggest drunkenness.
"When I am sizing up a potential customer, I always check out his watch."
Documentary on high-end legal prostitution in Nevada, as spoken by the Madam at Bunny Ranch. (no kidding)
“Your heart was warm and happy
With the lilt of Irish laughter
Every day and in every way
Now forever and ever after."
