Remembering American athlete, actor and WWII United States Army Air Corps veteran Woody Strode on his birthday (July 25, 1914 – December 31, 1994). He was a decathlete and football star, one of the first Black American players in the National Football League in the post-war era. His film credits include Pork Chop Hill (1959), Spartacus (1960), The Last Voyage (1960), Sergeant Rutledge (1960), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), and The Professionals (1966).
