Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Day/Date

Post by koimaster » October 13th 2020, 10:13am

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Day Date is inspired by the Devils Hole, a geologic formation in Nevada. This underwater chasm, over 120 metres deep, is home to the Devils Hole pupfish. This new watch features a sandy beige dial with a matching sail canvas strap, referencing the hues of this desert region. Housed within the case is the self-winding Calibre 1315DD which upholds the Maison’s reputation for high-end finishing.

Within the world of diving, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is the stuff of legends. It was the ‘first modern diving watch’ created in 1953. Its rugged construction and reliability are now well known.

The Bathyscaphe dates back to the 1950s and was once a model in its own right. In 2013, Blancpain, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms, unveiled the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe. Originally housed in a 43mm case, the Swiss firm has since released smaller case sizes and ladies’ models.

With the lilt of Irish laughter

Every day and in every way

Now forever and ever after."
