Welcome to the land of the banned

Post by koimaster » February 28th 2010, 8:05pm

I am a bit perplexed by the comments below. While I understand there may be some bad blood between a couple of members of the forums calling this the land of the band is like calling the pot calling the kettle black IMHO. Foghorn and I were both banned from this now dead or on life support forum. But they welcomed the PJ in with open arms.

lol, I don't even know Yamahaki, other than all the posts exposing how fake he is and the BS he has caused on other forums. Funny that Cali is the OP of that post when I saw Alan on here signed in yesterday. He immediately left once he saw me sign in. :albino: As far as being banned from every site, I'm only banned from WG and DWC. I believe some of those guys have a much longer list than I. so yes, pot/kettle/black is correct.

Oh and btw, you don't see my Username changed because I was laughed out of every watch forum I originally signed up with, right Darth? 8)

Things change. The only part of that thread that surprises me is Cali Kids post. I used to think Trevor was alright (except for his fanboi view of Yamahaki and the other hard chargers at the original Y3T forum.) Still, there's no way I would lump him in with the other two baggage wise. I do remember Noob going off in the "cage" or something like that. One of the female mods @ DWC couldn't handle the Noob uncensored in the part of the forum set aside for such things. I do remember that Cali Kid was here for a while (was this before or after we were a forum of misfits from the land of the banned?) FYI-the only forum I was ever banned from was WGs-well after I joined you bunch of banned misfits.
See you're WRONG I don't work at all, I'm a Democrat. The immortal Horse Feathers as spoken to Chucky Ninetoes.

Brings back memories for me
Was banned on every forum board but here and Watchnet.
Once because of ID theft. Someone sold a fake Rolex using my name? How is that possible.
Banned anyway, and I proved I was in the emergency room floor at Kaiser for two shitty weeks.

So, what happens to these ghost forums--or, more correctly, fora?

A guy I worked with for many years had been an army lifer before his retirement, and he told me that taking the U-Bahn in Berlin during the Cold War was somewhat surreal--the train would rush through closed stations in the Russian controlled sector, with abandoned platforms, with peeling posters, overfilled, never emptied trash containers, etc. Is that what these places have become? Because, it's fucking spooky.
My little brain can't even comprehend how deep that is.

I have tried several times to either purchase or import dead or dying forums into WL. They would have been part of an archive forum or in the case of BDWF, all of the data could have been imported into the new forum. Over the years Horologyguild, deskdiver and others have fallen or been deleted. A shame except for the death of that abomination of a forum, Watchgeeks.

To the best of my recvollection I was banned from the following forums fora.

Dive Watch Connection(don't remember why_)+
Watch Talk Forum(and I was a bigshot goddammit)
Watch Talk World. (anyone remember Weenson Oo?)
TimeTechTalk (Oscar Gaspar-'nuff said)
WUS(but got back in years ago)

BDWF-(and to think I was once an owner there-pre Skelton/Davis butt kissing era)
WatchGeeks-(I never even got the chance to join)

Maybe one or two more but my head hurts from all the fond memories..
