Never go shopping with kids

Post by koimaster » June 10th 2019, 3:37pm

On the coast over the weekend with daughter and her friends. Dad of course gets roped into going to the factory stores where everyone is shelling out $$$$ for products. I make the mistake of going into a store where Birks are on sale which leads to Dad buying 2 pairs of them. Then kids all go into Nike store while Dad waits outside. After 20 minutes Dad goes in and comes out with Lebrons...........again.

And yes, you can see the faint hint of a brace holding my incisional hernia in place. Not too bad though for an old man.

Shoes may be the one thing I love more than watches. My largest closet is organized for my shoes, I just can’t stop buying them.
For a couple of weeks my kitten was pulling them all off the shelves and I would find them heaped on the floor. Putting them back up was time consuming. Fortunately he got over it and has been leaving them alone.

I was in an induced coma for four months. They fed me milk of amnesia, methadone, propofol and something else. I took many interesting trips to far away planets, one day my body was locked in a block of stone and when it fell in a river my body physically crossed over. There was a big hill and a dude standing at a lectern at the top. When I returnrd to earth I was in a casino watching Don Rickles performing. So help me G-d.

My coma was due to septic shock and I remember nothing at all.

Thanks Mark. I hope all goes well with you as well. Has been a long recovery with some side effects from the septic shock but life goes on regardless. We make adjustments on how we carry on with our lives, but we carry on.

During the time I was in the hospital Smellody visited me and my daughter was there the entire time as well as taking care of me along with my home nurses during the slow recovery time. It was 5 months before I could walk without a walker and 8 months until I lost the cane. A lot of folks are far worse off than I ever was.

Getting back to my shoes, if I can find my PF Flyers somewhere I want to shoot a contrast shot between then and now.
