Well, I've been much impressed w/ my 'The Chief'(see post above, the 'purist' version)..it's 40mm case and relative thinness make for a very comfortable time piece for informal office & around the house wear..so impressed(as comfortable as my Omega Speedys), I bit the bullet and purchased the cream colored dial version(GL0250, again the purist version)..other than the change in dial color, the only other major difference is the 'gun metal' colored SS 40 mm case...it reminds me of a bronze colored case..comes w/the same high quality leather strap as the GL0251, but is of a slightly lighter shade of brown..if there are any folks currently 'on the fence' regarding this baby, the anthracite colored dial version is slightly preferable, imo…it is also available w/ a black dial, and for $550.00(including shipping) from Ashfords, they are still nice bargains..

Tik, it looks to me like their new bronze Sub that is in the works will have a blue linen vibe to it..

All these Glycine deals have been stretching my watch dollars to the maximum, but the value equation is hard to argue against. So, I have added a mil-spec field watch to the collection. I chose this model GL0239 for the smaller size 41mm, and no date function. The watch is highly legible and the hands glow nicely, the other markings are not as bright. Maybe to add contrast? Another nit to pick is the nylon strap is a little stiff and fits a little to snug. That will be rectified in the near future. I did consider Hamilton watches as well but in the end the Glycine won me over, this time. I still want the Khaki model our esteemed rooster owns.
To sum up, my impression is highly favorable.

Starting the work week off w/ The Chief..I must say, this cream colored dial version is hard for me not to wear..both it and the gray dial version are very nicely crafted..comfortable to wear..40mm SS cases, 12.4mm thick, high quality leather straps..
