Great to see that again.

I’m pretty impressed by it. The guy said it was an easy fix. I was going to try it myself, but didn’t want to mess it up and cause damage. I got tuned up and serviced while it was there.

Nice Atlantic, Al! That's really sharp. Good quality too - nice to see some Atlantic love in these parts.

The calendar doesn't enter into it anymore. It's been so hot and humid here that I didn't wear it for ages. It's only gonna be 50 here today, so it's the first thing I thought of today.

That's a nice Atlantic, Svagy. I generally don't see a lot of Atlantics even on WUS. At least not the ones made any later than the late 1960s, as that's more or less when Atlantic has withdrawn from almost everywhere except Central and Eastern Europe (they were among just a handful of brands officially available behind the Iron Curtain). This one looks like 2000 or later - although I don't know if Atlantic has tried to re-establish their presence anywhere outside Eastern Europe (Poland has always been the largest market for them).

Speaking of the East, this one for me today:

1958 Start, made by the 2nd Moscow Watch Factory. Gold plated aluminium case. Under the bonnet, ZIM 2602 - the Soviet clone of the LIP R26. Interestingly, while the finishing on these things was rather industrial, they even bothered to give the 2602 a Breguet overcoil.
