DOXA dives back into their 80s catalogue

Post by koimaster » December 3rd 2021, 9:58am

Imagine you’re heading out for a swim or a surf… the sun’s beating down and you have the day to yourself. You glance down to grab the time off your trusty (and waterproof) brightly-coloured watch…

When we discuss a brand like DOXA, it’s those fun colours and designs that bring to mind scenes like that. Those bold designs were neatly exemplified by the recent Time+Tide x DOXA SUB 600T ‘pacific’ Limited Edition – a joyous oceanic blue with orange accents that hinted at the iconic colour associated with the SUB 300 line and the legendary diver, explorer and documentary maker Jacques Cousteau, who was such a fan of the brand.

Unlike the SUB 300 line, the DOXA SUB 600T’s inspiration comes from the 1980s, when DOXA began a personality transformation, care of angles, bevels and edges. Inspired by that decade’s rethink after the company was purchased by the Aubry Frères Company, the SUB 600T comes with as many sharp angles as a scene from the 1982 film classic Tron.

That, er... thing is disgusting. Can we please delete it from the Smilie list? Can't deal with those unkempt toenails...

I like the 600T a lot.

I don't think I could make myself give Synchron any of my money though.
Meritocracy: the privilege, wealth and advancement of those who chose their parents wisely.
Capitalism: a cult that promised to do good for the worst reasons.
Nationalism: a profound longing to go back to a past that never existed.

What Carl said. I find myself getting stiff over many things that I would never consent to; for example, the idea of Lidia Bastianich and Susan Boyle lezzing out and eating each other gives me a boner, after which I would like to join in with them and punch them both in the seat, aka, have anal sexual congress with them. However, should this actually happen in real life, which it probably won't, I'd likely run for the exit, probably vomiting down the front of my shirt.

There are also a couple of Glycines that give me wood, but I'm unlikely to Eyal any of my money, either.

Pretty good looking watch. I don't like the matching straps but the blue / orange on the bracelet would be sharp.

I wouldn't patronize Synchron, either, but it shouldn't be long until Maranez issues an homage.

T 'n T makes much about the "tried and trusty" SW200-1 in these, the Selita redo of the SW200 intended to keep teeth from being broken off of the ratchet wheel when the movement is hand wound, which is doesn't accomplish. If you like to hack for setting purposes and / or hand wind, best to avoid the SW200-1.

John that post was over the top, beyond the pale, and gratuitous as a third nipple. I’ve refrained from commenting on these bluish posts of yours as I’ve grudgingly accepted them as you being you but this imagery has crossed a line and must not stand.
The notion of anyone, even in jest, vomiting anything from the highly talented and fetching vixen Lidia is simply unfunny and disturbing on a molecular level.
Having said that, if the unlikely scenario does come to pass, as it were, I would greedily partake, such is my esteem and admiration for the woman’s culinary skills.
As for Glycine, I have long admired the Airman DC 4, but of course Eyell Leelow had nothing to do with that design. I’m given to understand that even Granny Leelow had little to do with its success, the extent of her participation consisting of gifting one, along with a hastily administered blumpy to Pete Conrad in exchange for his posing for a few candid snaps for the Invicter archives.
