There was no official watch made for the Chinese army. I have that on *very* good authority. The air force and divers, yes. But army? No.

Shanghai and a couple of other manufacturers did have a few special orders and they were marked "For Military" but that's it. And the Wuxing wasn't one of them.

The "Wuxing" (Merkur calls this a Wuxing Homage) was simply the first prototype built by Tianjin, China's first prototype with a Chinese built--but not designed--movement, They may have made a very few. The first is in the museum in Tianjin, dated March 24th/1955.

I like the watch, though. And for $99 I have no complaints--but the story is...Staueresque.

Pretty sure Merkur is like many of the Chinese brands of late, that being a knock-off company.
