Beijing Beihai 3.0 SB18 hand-winding mechanical watch

Beihai 3.0 is created to carry forward the tradition of Beihai limited edition commemorating the 55th anniversary of Beijing watch factory 1958-2008.

Virtually everything remains same as the 1st generation Beihai except a date window is added at 3 o’clock; English "Beijing watch" logo is changed to Chinese.


•The front face is blue, decorated by visible sunny ray patterns.


•Black small second hand at 6


•Silver hour, minute hands. Silver long wedge-shaped hour indices.


•Silver Tiananmen image below the big silver 12 o’clock


•Sapphire on both front glass and display case back


•SB18 hand-winding movement. Classic 3/4 plate decorated by Geneva stripes, golden chatons, ruby jewels and blue screws, engraved in golden words “made by BWAF China 18 Jewels, B18”



Movement: SB18 manual hand-winding
Diameter: 38mm
Thickness: 9.5mm
Weight: 48 grams

I believe this brand, Tianjin Wuyi, had it first. Shanghai used it with their peacock in the center.

Here is a thread at WUS with a bunch of pictures of old vintage Chinese watches with textured dials. You can see several like the Beijing and Celadon along with various alterations.

Beijing is an old brand, they may have had an old dial watch like this, I’m not sure.

Stock pictures are better then my shots. Here it is though, looking at the leather strap it looks only worn a time or two. There are no marks on it.

I couldn’t get a good shot, it reflects everything. I’ll try again when the sun is up.
