Id wear the Cartier but I usually like watches where I can see what time it is.
NRPI here.

My friend's dad was a jeweler and he gave her a Cartier Pasha (Pasha de Cartier?) with a grille like that. I was a bit puzzled by the can't-see-the-timeness of it all. The Pasha came out in 1985 (Genta) but I don't know about the grilled ones. I spent a whopping five minutes and didn't get very far, but maybe mid-late '90s.
Is it safe?

Girard-Perregaux military watch with radium lume c-1915. Hinged at 12 to lift the guard, release at 6 to remove it.

From the perspective of the early 1900's, actually not a bad little piece of design / engineering to fortify a military watch.
