Diving on The Antilla off Aruba, Caribbean

Sunk by the Captain before capture in 1940, the German Freighter Antilla, used as a U-boat supply ship lies in about 60 feet of Caribbean Ocean:

Here is the top deck and entrance to the wheelhouse:

Main deck with side rails still intact...

great photos. What surprises me is the condition she is in. I would have thought that she would have been in far greated disrepair as she rests in warmer waters.

In the deeper and colder waters the ships remain intact ( for the most part depinding on age ).

Did you venture inside her? I cannot wait for more photos. And thanks for sharing with us.

I didn't go inside.. After 60 years, the hull is shifting and there are signs of collapse, so it is no longer safe to explore... at least not without all the right equipment..

The ship was originally scuttles and blown in half... some of the rusted edges are sharp and dangerous too..
