2025 Oct. 18 with watchmaker Wang Da Wei, in Qinhuangdao, Shandong

This was a day filled with horological eye-candy. And I can't ever say enough about the kindnesses I'm shown.

Lots of extras in the post, about Qinhuangdao itself (pretty place), some terrific food and some classic antiques.

That double Tourbillon is that painted or enamel in your link? It is a stunning piece either way!! Way to go Ron!! I enjoyed all of your pictures and videos class act all around. Throw out the politics and we are all the same enjoying each other’s stories and culture. I quite enjoy your trips and hopefully soon I will be taking an Asian trip.

Thank you! I hope you have a great time in Asia--and share your stories, too!

I *think* the double tourbillon is both hand painted and enamel - baked.

Amazing.
One thing I can't convey is how surreal a lot of this *to me* while I'm meeting these people and visiting these places. I'm constantly amazed and astounded, myself.

And you folks, I know, can remember back to when I was still pretty new to collecting, and before I'd been to China. I sure didn't see any of this coming at the time. And I'm still never used to it.
