Back from China, and Watchlords sees this first.

Post by AlbertaTime » November 7th 2025, 6:25am

This watch is not at all intended for general distribution. It's a gift from Li Wei of the China Horologe Association, commemorating the 13 year friendship Li Wei and I share, and my relationship with the Shanghai Watch Factory Museum.

There are only six of these watches in existence. three stored at The Shanghai Watch Factory Museum in Shanghai, one on Li Wei's wrist, one on mine, and one in a private collection in China. The box is signed by Li Wei and me.

The brand name is a reference to Mr. Li and me. The small Lirongood below the larger logo on the watch is a stylized harmonica, as is the engraving on the outside of the ring (folks who know me know I played harp semi-pro for decades). The inscription on the inside of the ring is my title at the Shanghai Museum (see the translation photo)

There may be future limited edition collector-related LiRonGood projects in the future, but that's not the purpose of this watch.

I archived my trip (but not this) on Facebook. but I'll be re-writing and posting a sequential history of the entire in more detail than Facebook saw on the AMCHPR site over the coming while. If anyone wants see what's already on Facebook, friend me if you're on and you'll be able to.

Hi. both! And thank you. I admit, I really like the watch.

I know Christopher was seeing my Facebook posts, so he knows I had a busy time :-)

I've been home about 26 hours, my sleep schedule is kinda backwards, still--but my mind is still processing everything that went on.

I learned a lot this year, I know that.

Which, of course, also means now I know that I know even less when compared to everything there is to know :-)

That is frickin’ RAD!!

What an awesome bit of international horological history - and fantastic sentiment! It’s nice to see China, the people rather than just the institution.

Very very cool, Ron.

Now Imma have to go check out your MySpace page… 🤭

Hoping you post up some of your trip here-----
cuz I am a staunch anti-facebook kinda guy (probably the only American left whom has never had a facebook account).

Good for you. That is just too cool, and the watch looks fantastic, plus all the other goodies make a super fine package. Congrats!
Thanks! I'm plainly a happy--and lucky--camper!

Cool story, watch and ring. I do think RonGoodLi rolls off the tongue better-just saying.
Thanks, but Mr. Li deserves top billing.

The photo is Li Wei and me, first meeting, Apr. 2013 (corner photo), and Li Wei and me, Oct 2025 on the bank walkway of the Liangma He in Beijing.

Wow, that is incredible, Ron. Love the watch and especially the subdial/chapter ring colors.
Thanks, Racer. I agree, I love the orange and black accents, and the raised subdials are a nice touch, gives the dial some depth.

Ron, You are the new king of cool. I do really admire this, and thanks a lot for sharing with us!
King of Cool is beside me on the river. If you met him, you'd realize I'm correct :-)

I love sharing my adventures and it means a lot that you appreciate it.
