AMCHPR 2024 China Tour: PEK-HKG-YVR-YEG and a drive to come...

Post by AlbertaTime » November 10th 2024, 10:03am

Good morning all, from a Super 8 in scenic Edmonton Alberta.

Here's my travel schedule from Beijing, starting on the morning of Nov: 9th (there)

1) up at 7:30AM to pack and head to the airport--at airport at 10:00AM
2) flight PEK to HKG, left at 1:45PM, landed at 5:30PM (3 hr layover in HKG)
3) Flight HKG to YVR, left at 8:25PM -- 11hr 35 min flight, arrived at 4PM Nov 9th Vancouver time (3 hr 30min layover in YVR)
4) Flight from YVR to YEG, left at 7:20PM - 2 hr 35 min flight, arrived at YVR at 9:56PM Edmonton time

Total travel: 30+ hours travel time w/zero sleep (maybe an hour of fitful nodding off)... and today it's a five hour drive to Peace River, courtesy a friend. I got 6 hours of sleep last night, so I'm OK or the day.

Here's a few shots from journey, all taken at HKG (Premium Plaza Lounge, and a small part of the airport because I was too bagged to shoot at YVR and YEG), and the end of the 2024 AMCHPR China Tour, but not the end of the documentation.

There's some developments in the works as I've mentioned, and I'll be documenting the entire trip at my site, so I'll post as new or updated stuff ready.

Huge thanks to everyone here for the kind comments and for following along. As I've noted, the 'Lords rawk!!
