Last of the 2024 Spree: San Martin world timer GMT SN0116-G1

Post by AlbertaTime » April 29th 2024, 5:36pm

Here's the last of the 2024 AMCHPR Spring watch buying fling: the San Martin SN0116-G1 GMT World Timer,

Really, it's the same beast as my other San Martin SN0016, but with a world time bezel, a colored chapter ring, and an overall less flashy color. It's actually kinda reserved, but I've wanted a world time bezel watch in my collection for years. so now I have one. And, like my other SN0016, this isn't an homage of anything, so that's another plus.

Movement: NH34
Case: 316L Stainless Steel
Diameter: 39.5mm
Lug to Lug: 46.5mm
Thickness: 12.5mm
Band width: 20mm
WR: 100 meters
Crystal: Sapphire w/AR
Bezel: 24 Click bidirectional/ceramic
Screw crown and slide-lock clasp

One thing I do think is fun: this old vintage Chinese Ma'anshan Shiba world timer actually provides *all* the information that the newer watch provides, with no extra hand to set, and no need to reset a bezel once you have your local time set.

Also: I'll note that the white bezel print on the San Martin appears uneven in my photos, and it might be, but doesn't really appear much that way IRL, so I think maybe it's mostly just how light hits.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice! I love a world timer!

Great looking watch. I too was tempted by this one but the delivered Aussie-dollar price was a bit too much in the end for Tightarse_Recliner. Looking at your pics, I'm thinking maybe I should have caved - looks way better than on their website.

Thanks all. This has been a fun spree, six affordable pieces that add some desired depth to my collection.

I certainly agree with WIStful about San Martin's colour choices. They're smart about it.
