Fun times comin' up...

Post by AlbertaTime » January 8th 2024, 10:41pm

The oddly mild December is now fully behind us, and here's what's in store for the next few days (in Fahrenheit for our US friends). -40C is pretty much identical in both Fahrenheit and Celsius).

Serves you Canuckians right, sending those winds down south like you do. I spent one winter in the oilfields of North Dakota. Those low temps are common due largely to the winds coming out of Canada. I got smart, quit the oilfields, joined the Air Force and moved to Florida.
See you're WRONG I don't work at all, I'm a Democrat. The immortal Horse Feathers as spoken to Chucky Ninetoes.

Well, we're getting some payback, I figure. Sunday night is gonna be fun. These temps are before wind chill. Wind chill is gonna be in the high minus 50s.

English translation: -52.6° Fahrenheit. With wind chill: down to roughly -70°F , give or take a degree or two.

No, kid, that's not an EV...it's for the block heater." Refrigiwear--that's the ticket.

And people here are freaked out over -12° with highs around 10° for a couple'a days, with no snow. The store shelves have been depleted as though there's bomb cyclone on the way. Car batteries, battery tenders, and sew Fourth are sold out while inboxes are being flooded with advisories on how to survive the freeze.

I prepared by making sure the antifreeze was topped up in our cars,

We're a long way from being out of the woods for the winter but it's been pretty mild in these parts so far. We were certainly a much hardier lot around here before the marijuana migration but IDK how you guys hang with the weather up there, Ron. Stay warm, man,
