About -35°F. Wear a jacket, and maybe gloves and toque, eh.

Here's the real weirdness. I walked out of my house to go to work in my full winter gear, taking no chances, all bundled up expecting the high winds (so very high wind chill) we're had over the last week. A strong wind and -37 can get you to an immediate -45/48. No word of a lie, that can be brutal--biting and painful on anything exposed, even for a very short run to the car. You do it, but you don't want to do it, at all.

But it was quite calm and I had my jacket undone before I got to the car.

In fairness, if it would have been a five minute walk--oh yeah, bundle up, big-time, for sure.

But just to go to the car, nah. Not if it's not windy.

That is COLD!

It'll get into the 70's F here today but more rain, rain, rain. Last week, it got down to 28F. With lots of wind. I couldn't ride my scooter.

I'm expecting a good bit of snow this year. We might get 6 inches total. :-)

Been hovering around zero all day today, and being as the gas and electric prices have doubled in the past few months over here, I bravely held off until 3pm before putting on the heating. I'd need a bank loan if it got any colder...

This is why I only lasted one winter in the oilfields of North Dakota. The bitterly cold winds, coming down from Canada primarily, could drop the wind chill down to 50 below or more. Do you have to plug your car into a block heater to get it started?

We had a cold snap last week, -4 was the lowest in my neck of the woods — teens and twenties otherwise — the tropics by comparison but the winter is young.

Once it gets to -15 to 20C, yep. The car is plugged in to keep the block/pan warm.

And: I *always* carry a battery booster in the winter because, especially at -30 to -50C, you might end up in a place with no plug-in, and batteries sure don't work their best at those temperatures.
