No fancy photos, just a heads up...

Post by AlbertaTime » August 23rd 2024, 10:14pm

I just booked my flight and I return to China on Oct 9th (late) arriving in Beijing Oct 11th. I'll be staying till my return flight Nov 9th.

A flight that used to cost about $1000 is now about $2900 CDN :-( ...

...but it's worth it to me :-)

Goddamn it, A-T, for what you have done to chronicle the Chinese horological scene, they should send a Gulfstream G800 to pick you up, gratis.

I shall register my opinions with the Chinese consulate in Seattle.
Thank you. John! brightened my morning :-)

I should add, the watch content likely won't be quite as high this trip since I'm mostly concentrating on visiting friends I've made over the years that I haven;t seen since 2019, but I hope to have a couple of older factory visits, though, if I'm lucky--and I'll see a few collector friends for sure.

Really appreciate the thoughts, all.

Heh, I just added Wuhan to my itinerary, and it's a sure thing although I haven't set the exact dates yet. :-)

Some of you might remember Tina who was one of my guides at Zhuhai Rossini, and then also appeared in my posts as a friend and translator for me in an interview with the CEO of Fiyta while she was working at the China Watch and Clock Fair, and she also arranged my first meet with Brad Green of EastWatchReview.

Last trip (2023) Tina had invited me to stay with her family in Zhuhai for some down time, nothing to do with watches, but lots of just looking around and relaxing--which we did.

Well, one of Tina's relatives that I met lives in Wuhan, and we'd also met later in Beijing just before I came home. We're friends now so I accepted an offer to get shown around Wuhan.

Life offers some unexpected destinations :-)

Cool to hear you're on for this year.
Thank you, Sir. I'm really excited.

Gonna see Ma Rong, my brother in Shijiazhuang. And Sky Han/Han Gang in Xinmi and Li Jiushun in Luoyang--and I haven't seen either since 2019, also Li Wei in Beijing...still some decisions on one or two other places.
