Hope they figure it out. If it was murder-suicide or suicide-suicide I'll have a different feelings towards him. Why the fuck the dog?

I've always enjoyed his acting especially in Crimson Tide. And reaching way back to Bonnie and Clyde, one of my all time favorites. If it's a Chris Benoit thing my view may change. I agree Smells, wtf did that poor dog do? It's a shame every way you look at it.

My experience in the past with these type of things sometimes it’s dual suicide. One partner may Be fatally ill annd the other does not want to go on without them. Then I heard about the dog and I was leaning towards something like a natural gas leak or carbon monoxide poisoning. I’m sure as soon as the autopsy is released, the media will be all over it.

Two dogs were still alive, roaming the property.

Wife was 64, 31 years younger. Still a lot of runway for merry widowhood on hubby’s estate.

Whole thing is curious.

Except for the bottle of Rx pills scattered around her, Im leaning heavily towards a gas leak. If there was a cold snap and the furnace wasnt used for a long time prior carbon monoxide makes sense and explains the dog also. I read his body was positioned like an unexpected fall.

I’m not going to comment on how or why they died but I did meet Gene and got to spend a few hours with him showing him around Epcot in 96 or 97 as he was the guest speaker for the Candle Light Procession. I got to meet a multitude of actors and actresses during my time there and Mr. Hackman was among the top 4-5 people that I had the pleasure of meeting and working with.

The report says there were two other dogs found alive on the property and an open front door. This seems to cast some doubt on carbon monoxide poisoning. At 95 he lived a long life, the wife not so much. We may never know what really happened.

A fatal accidental fall {mud room, cane} followed by a soulmate’s impulsive suicide {scattered pills}?

But the dog! The decent canine would seem to defy that…

Perhaps a gas leak might explain the open door {ostensibly airing out the property} and the different locations of the 3 victims.

It is reasonable to assume a home in a remote area might utilize a commercial propane tank… the supply of which might be eventually exhausted by said theoretical leak so that once the bodies were found there was no longer errant gas throughout the home…

It is curious indeed.
