Face Mask info - KN95, Surgical, Cloth

Post by Racer-X » August 5th 2020, 11:48pm

The best of what I’ve found and bought so far. The Powecom from Bonafide are very nice if you don’t have N95 or medical grade.

What are N95 masks?
N95 filter 95% but are difficult or expensive to get at this time.

What are KN95 masks?
KN95 are the China equivalent of N95 but without NIOSH approval.

Can you reuse N95 or KN95 masks?
Yes, but keep them in a paper bag for a week before reusing.

How to clean and reuse masks:

Where to buy:

N95 Masks
Best protection below medical or hazard grade. More protection than a cloth or surgical mask.

Accumed brand - CDC and NIOSH Approved
20 masks - $150 ($7.50 each)

KN95 Masks

Powecom brand - FDA Authorized with FPC Cert - GB2626-2006
These can be found all over, but Bonafidemasks is an authorized reseller.

I purchase mine from either bonafide or accumed. I prefer the headband style over the ear loops for two reasons. The ear loop styles IMHO are not as snug as the headband style and I do not want my ears to look like a depressed beagle.

Part of the stash for the pandemic. Over 100 lysol and clorox wipe packages. 500+ kn95 masks, 100 or so surgical masks and over 90 n95 masks. Does not include 3 gallons gel hand sanitizer. My kids and friends pick this stuff up when they see it for sale and buy it for dad. Have already given the local medical community a ton of this excess stuff.

Anyone have a rolex to trade for wipes?

I myself wear surgical masks while at work. My company has manufactured (!) a large number of KN95 masks for workers, but since I have to wear a mask for a full eight hours a day, I can't breath well and be productive in a KN95. I figure the standard cotton surgical masks allow me a small amount of safety, while keeping others safe should I contract the 'Rona. I also wash my hands very often, and have found hand sanitizer, which I always thought revolting pre-COVID, to be the Paco Rabanne of 2020. If you reek of this lately, you'll have hot MILFs wanting to suck your dick like you were wearing a Rolex Sub.
I find tv watches to be like the guys who raise their truck you need a fricken ladder to get in. It’s a attempt to look cool... that’s all.

Racer, thanks for this thread. Picked up some KN95s through BonaFide Masks (not far from me), and the service was great. I'd been doing faux surgical/cloth but wanted some 95s, and I didn't wanna order through Amazon. Great job.
WatchGeeks will go down in watch forum history as the worst watch related site that existed. Trolls, threats, bannings, and owners and sponsors talking out of their collective asses to fleece people out of hard earned money. - Koimaster
