Upcoming 2024 Shows?

Post by smellody » June 8th 2024, 11:06am

Do you all have any show lined up?

Tonight I have tickets I won to see the Village People.

Later this year:

* July 28 Stray Cats
* August 9 Donny Osmond
* August 24 Tommy James and the Shandells
* August 25 The Beach Boys (touring)
* August 30 ELO (Electric Light Orchestra)
* September 28 Dwight
* October 27 Josh Gates Live (front row with VIP meet and greet)
*November 21 Aerosmith

That's it for now. Still working on Blondie and Beach Boys tickets.

How about you?

Theatre included? Saw The Woman in Black week before last (not to be confused with the semenal A Black in The Woman). Excellent, hadn't seen a play in years. Formulaic but timeless, effective formulas executed successfully. Some genuinely scary moments.

28 June - Late Night Orchestra - The Portishead Legacy. Clea, Jaguar Jonze, Ngaiire and Ben Woolner (Safia) will be joined by a 12 piece ensemble including strings, brass and turntables to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Dummy’. Late Night Orchestra will reimagine their iconic catalogue as well as giving a nod to some of the acts that were inspired by them.

27 September - Hiatus Kaiyote. What it says on the tin.

Wouldn't mind seeing Take That but $379 a ticket? Yeah, nah.

7-21: Jason Isbell
7-27 Lake Street Dive
8-11: Foo Fighters
8-17:Sara Bareilles
9-15:Pink
9-28: Paul Weller
11-16: Ted Leo and the Pharmacist.

These are ones I have already purchased tickets. There are some coming up for sale this week that might fill in my concert calendar.

Hey, I did some grocery shopping with Brian Setzer one time. He helped a lady pick up her soda cans when the box ripped.

I've got Dwight Yoakum lined up in Lincoln Nebraska a week from Friday. I had no idea it was an outdoor show when I told my cousins I'd get there for it. See the summer sucks thread for further details on my feelings about the heat.

Paul Weller in September and the dB's in October.

Recent shows were X, Rosali, and Mates of State.

I often buy tickets to shows and bail on going, but Rosali was a Monday night and I somehow got there. She has an excellent new record if she's the kind of thing you like. Indie/folk/classic rock, I guess?

Mates of State brought their kids on tour. Wheeee!
Is it safe?

Nice.

Cool you met Setzer. I have a selfie somewhere if him getting onto his tour bus in Portland after one of his Christmas Orchestra shows.
