Based on a true story. Niihau is a Hawaiian island that is home to native Hawaiians who live traditionally. A Japanese plane from the second wave crashed there after the Pearl Harbor attack. I lived in Hawaii and never knew about this until recently. These poor people, their world was turned upside down, it is heartbreaking to see what they went through.

Thanks for the tip. Always up for things like this; my dad lived through all that, so I gobble up all sorts of military film and biographies.
