A hydro plated piece of shit

On the shop right now. Not a good screenshot but it's the best I could do.

They have outdone themselves on ugliness.

Does 'Hydro Plating' mean it's a water transfer print?
If it's the same thing as a decal, which I was dealing with when assembling Revell and Airfix models as a kid, it's in fact more shitty than the shittiest plating.

I Googled hydro plating and the first thing that came up was water transfer printing. This is when the print is floated on water and the things to be printed is pushed or rolled onto the media and it sticks. Fascinating to see done on car body parts, but I can't imagine that it is long lasting on a watch if worn regularly.

JAS ... they even want four hundred bucks for this thing? Who's their intended buyer, Edith Massey The Egg Lady? Baby piss in an elevator? The yorkie who has everything? I mean ... WTF times 10.

But then again - what's the over-under on PacerBuy getting one in each of the two sizes (52 and 42?)?

I would assume this is targeted toward the highly lucrative skinny-Jean-&-urban-street-art-tee-shirt-wearing, tat-laden, midlife-crisis-bearing, douche-nozzle divorcée market...

i have to admit I haven't been paying attention to A.L.'s latest most gorgeous offerings in a long while. But this intrigued me, and I had a look, and I have a couple of questions. Seriously. First, I saw a Subaqua Noma that cost something like $1,700, was uglier than home made sin, and had one review. To wit:

★★★★★1 out of 5 stars. · 22 days ago
LOOKS GREAT
I received the watch and I set the time and placed it into my watch case however two days later when I went to wear it I later noticed that the second hand was moving and the time and date was the same date That I set it on from the first day I received it. I thought maybe it was me but I waited and did it again the time did not keep but the seconds hand is moving. Being a constant customer I really would like a discount on this purchase

Honestly, that kind of makes me want to cry. I feel like I have to cry a little. Like when I see some cretin deliberately run over a kitten.
So my questions are two. 1) When the heck did they start charging multiple thousands of dollars for these things? Some are six or seven grand. And that's with the generous seventy to ninety percent everyday discount. It seems like yesterday when, in order to barely break four figures an Invicter needed a 7750 or gray market hijacked Dubois Depraz movement. And 2) what did I miss that forced Eyal to finally admit that these are all made in China? I'm assuming there was some sort of legal action requiring the removal of the "Swiss Made" lie. What happened?

Swiss FH stirred from their slumber and featured Invicta as a supplier of counterfeit watches - in writing and I assume in probably at least three languages. A cease and desist might also be reasonably inferred.

There was considerable angst at one forum over a perceived drop in quality which was puzzling because the watches were no less Swiss than they ever were.

There’s a copy of the glossy Swiss publication with a healthy dose of piss yellow evidence. It eludes me presently but some Lord will post it hopefully.

I wasn’t aware that the fever dream prices had grown more fevered but it’s been some time since I paid any attention.
