Re: Fantastic Sea Kraken Review
That is a great watch. I have always liked the Glycine Combat Subs like the ones Thunder1 frequently posts
Only problem for me is the Combat Sub name. I have a lifelong rule against any vet gear and having been in the sub force a watch with that name would feel like I was leaning into it. Doxa Army is fine, wasn’t in the Army.
Sea Kraken does not have the Combat Sub so good.
Not a fan of patinated lume but it isn’t egregious. Engraving on back is very cool and the fairly minimalist design overall matches my taste. And 39mm diameter is great.
Really like this watch. Thanks for posting.

Re: Fantastic Sea Kraken Review
TLDR. Not sure we need to be finding ways to describe an Invicta Glycine using even more words.
Falls into the trap of most reviews by describing in words that which is patently obvious from looking at the pics.
Sorry Bloke, must do better.

Nice review of a so-so wartche. The Invicta stench is too strong for me to take it seriously.

Genuinely curious because of several comments.
What is the connection to Invicta? I am not disputing it, I don’t know much about either brands (along with a whole lot of other things)
Edit: A quick googling cleared this up

Not a bad watch but lots and lots of competition.
I do think a tropic strap would be better suited to the watch than the leather strap.

22mm lugs ruins it for me. On a sub 40mm watch?

Re: Fantastic Sea Kraken Review
Well, if you guys want to know where have I grown fond of Glycine... Here. The Bronze Blue Bomber pass-around, if anyone remembers that. Didn't like that it was bronze, but liked everything else about it. That, and several Lords (Jeff, Chuck...) having posted Glycines in WURW threads.
As for Glycine being owned by IWG... Apart from the faux-discount pricing strategy - for what it's worth, in reviews I always provide the actual price and omit the "pre-discount" BS - they didn't fuck up the brand. Got 4 modern Glycines, am impressed with all of them. No leaks or parts falling off, should anyone wonder. If they'd be making unreliable shitters, that's when I'd turn my back on 'em and wouldn't bother owning more.

I always hope for the best. Experience, unfortunately, has taught me to expect the worst.
