One week review of my Bulova 200m Marine Star.
Last week I decided to try Amazon, overstock, ebay etc for my next watch to no avail. First place I tried Wal-Mart of course being Wal-mart you had the brands like Casio, Timex, Armitron and a few miscellaneous brands. Next it was off to the mall stop by JCPenny, Zales, Kay jewelers and Hannoush which the people there know me but their over priced. By this time I was about to give up but remembered I had two other stores I hadn't gone too. The first was a jewelry store that focused more on jewelry more than watches but had some used brands like Baume & Mercier, Tag, Ebel and a few others. Don't get me wrong there was some good brands but I wouldn't trust this place because this is the same store I mentioned I could of gotten a quartz Omega Seamaster for $150 last year. Finally I went next door to TJ Max was about to give up saw two Bulova precisionists models an all black Tissot Chronograph, a few diesels and other brands. Then finally just when I thought I've given up hope I saw the watch I wanted a Marine Star from Bulova asked how much said I'll take it. On to the specs.
42mm
11mm thick
black IP case
screwed down case back/crown
200m/20bar/20atm=660ft
japanese movt probably a citizen movt?
Unidirectional bezel can't tell if its 60 or 120?
date.
soft rubber strap
pros
good size
smooth roating bezel with a cool
half blue/half black look
wave pattern dial think seamaster look
Tuning fork logos at the 12, crown, and buckle
second hand touches every minute marker
cons
Strap is a little short especially if your wrist are bigger
than 8 inches.
Lume is ok does the job but could of been better
quartz is nice very accurate but an automatic would
of been nicer
Bulova has a msrp of $250 which to me is a little low even with the negative things
I mentioned. If this had Seiko, Tag Heuer, Tissot on the dial it would easily be $400-800.
I managed to get this for $106.45
