WTB - Orient Star Air Diver aka Revolver

Post by jonnybardo » January 23rd 2013, 9:51am

Hi All,
New here - I've been getting a laugh looking around the joint. Anyhow, I'm looking for an Orient Revolver at a reasonable price - preferably the blue dial version but I'd also be interested in the black dial. Bracelet only. Let me know if you want to sell or know of a source online that has them for significantly less than the $800+ they're going for on EPay!

Thanks!

Check some of Kois suggestions like WatchRecon or Elite Deals
I was searching for similar and found a few recently this week. Blue is hard to get apparently but I did see one. Another member also posted me this link.
http://www.watches88.com/default.cfm

see this search link as an example. http://www.watchrecon.com/?query=orient

Sometimes you have to wait a bit or go to the WTB forum on WUS or a divers forum in AUS for example. Closer to mfg. sites
good hunting

Thanks. I already check WatchRecon a few times a day. Do you know if that's pretty comprehensive for watch forums or does it not cover a lot?

Watchmann.com has them for $612, but I'm hoping to go lower than that. My hope is >$400 but I'd consider up to about $500 for something new.

Not if you get a good tissue match and a willing buyer. Kids only need one kidney.

The Revolver is a discontinued model, I think, which is too bad, because it was really the best mid-priced diver that Orient made.

It is discontinued, although beats me why. Seiya couldn't get it, said it was OOP.

While I love it, it seems a bit pricey - especially considering it is mineral glass and you can't hand-wind it. It seems more like a $3-400 watch, not a $6-800 one.

The Air Diver is a fabulous watch. The case, hands and dial are awesome. I will pick one up again for sure.

I believe you are right The OS300 is now an 'Orient' and the Revolver is discontinued in favour of the 'M-Force' line of watches.

Here yah go. Blue Dial and all. $20 at this time
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121057177359&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

Best of luck. I'm bidding on an Orient so it just popped up in an email alert. Create a search and get in on the fun.
Also there are some real deals on odd ball stars right now. Auto and Motorbike styles. Like I need another watch this week. I bid on the Star and find three others to buy while waiting for the auction to end. Sure fire way to buy too many watches.

Thanks, yeah, I saw that. The one thing is that he bezel is missing one of those round metal things. But it will be hard to resist if it goes for cheap enough.

Anyone know how I could find a replacement piece?

Try the manufacturer. Move out of your parents' basement, and try the real world for a change. Image

I did, Captain Douchebag, and was told that they won't sell just the screw - it would have to be the entire case and repair, which would run $225 total. Ouch.

By the way, the rank is Major; still living in mom's basement, aren't you?

For any who might care (which I don't expect you to), I picked up a black dial version for the excellent price of $250 - I'd guess it is about 90% on the TZ scale; the only noticeable wear is a bit of scuffing on the clasp.

Anyhow, I'm very pleased - a really nice watch.

p.s. As for the Saturation Diver, I'd love one but it isn't just another couple hundred dollars. Well, I guess I've seen them used recently for about $500, but those are always the orange which I wouldn't want. Still, I'll keep my eye out.
