In 1845, François Czapek founded his eponymous company, Czapek & Cie. He crafted exquisite pocket watches and ‘became the official watchmaker of Napoleon III’. Moreover, Czapek had a boutique in Place Vendôme, one of the most prestigious addresses in Paris, meeting the needs of wealthy and discerning clientele.
Like many names in watchmaking, Czapek & Cie disappeared from view for a considerable period. However, in 2015 the name Czapek & Cie was rekindled and soon set the world alight with its array of high-end, beautifully executed watches. Indeed, just one year after the brand’s revival, the Maison received the Public Prize in the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie in Geneva (GPHG).
