Time To Move 2019: Breguet Reine De Naples 8967

Post by koimaster » May 22nd 2019, 11:17am

The Reine de Naples collection is a striking demonstration of Breguet’s exceptional ability to access the deepest emotions of women, and cater to their secret desires. Inspired by history, but presented in a thoroughly modern and innovative way, the new Breguet Reine De Naples 8967 unveiled at Time To Move last week, is a unique tribute to individual identity, style and the attitude that makes every woman a veritable force of nature.

Presented in a 43 x 34.95mm steel ‘OVAL’ case, the watch is adorned with a rich deep-blue lacquered dial with turquoise blue scrolls. The delicately fluted caseband, the crown at 4 o’clock and the special lug of its bracelet are all characteristics that make this timepiece both feminine and original.

The dial here is reminiscent of a starry sky. The artisans at Breguet have achieved this effect by placing a touch of clear lacquer on still-liquid dark material. When combined in this manner, the colors mix spontaneously to form a unique painting. At 12 o clock and 6 o clock, Breguet’s Arabic numerals make a quite a presence. These are painted in white relief. The hours chapter – off-center at 6 o’clock – adopts the’OVAL’ shape of the case. Engraved lines radiate from its center, punctuated at the end by faceted diamond shapes in silvered powder. For use at night, a luminescent material – blue in the dark – has been used to illuminate the hands. Finally, the Breguet signature is engraved between 9 and 12 o’clock, followed by the timepiece’s individual number.

Beating inside the Reine de Naples 8967 is Breguet’s in-house caliber 591C automatic movement which is also visible through the transparent sapphire caseback, along with the engine-turned, solid-gold rotor. The use of silicon with non-magnetic properties for the escapement and the balance spring ensures a reliable precision movement with a frequency of 4 hertz. The 169 components of this manufacture caliber have been decorated with great care by Breguet’s artisans. The chronometric precision of the Reine de Naples has been tested in six positions, and the watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters.
