I got my first Seiko while working at Camp Schwab rifle range.
Very scenic range, what with the mountains behind. And if you turn around, you have a broad vista of the Pacific Ocean. Plus, range staff wear pith helmets, how cool is that?
The watch I got was Seiko 6458-600A, like this:
Hard to believe it was only 38mm, seemed massive at the time. I abused that watch beyond belief and finally managed to destroy it after about 4 years. It took a lot of effort, I will say.
Been off of firearms for decades now, but still love me some Seikos (and Orients!).
