Interesting how some pussies think a black cock makes the insult worse - very telling. REAL Marines wouldn't care what color had their back. AFAIC, You are not welcome here.

I'm thinking that Johny was wrapped a little too tight, is all. I remember some of the mooks I used to hire back when I was in restaurants--good guys, most of them, but the smallest thing would set them off. They'd be your best pals one second--and I mean, seriously, they'd take a bullet for you and laugh about it while they bled out--and the next second they'd be pissed and ready to fucking kill you.

Johny seemed the same way--me and Horse Feathers were breaking his balls last night and he was taking it good-naturedly, and then I made the joke about black watches and he flamed out and started putting his head through the dry-wall.

These fellows, when they're in a well-policed and PG site like WGs or, dare I say it, BDWF, can hang on for awhile and perhaps even become productive members--although this is a stretch to think that Johny could ever contribute much before going postal--but when attending an adults-type forum like the Lords, well, they simply can't handle it.

Just went through the thread again, it was an Elau post that triggered the meltdown but in fairness to him I think he was ready to boil over.

Agreed !

Elau, as mentioned by myself and more eloquently explained by Conjurer he was ready to burst.
It was just a thin mint away

How about looking for a watch for yourself. I am sure that the Army taught you how to use a search function.

BTW - We could give 2 fucks about your eye or why you need an all black watch. For all that we know, you prefer the finish because it reacts better with your anus. Do you have an anus problem too? Please disclose your medical history so that we don't get your panties in a wad during your future posts regarding holding your hand for a watch purchase.

It's slow here so I'll lob a couple of questions...

Is the black a matter of style or directly related to sensitivity to reflections? If it's the latter you might be better served by a bead blast stainless, matt titanium or even some plastics.

Is the specified diameter for style or legibility? If the goal is legibility big ass dive watches are seldom the answer - they're all bezel. If one puts the tape and the old "pie are squared" action on something like a Sea Squirt Hunter the bezel is around 1/3 of the surface area. Hence legibility isn't at all helped by the overall dimensions.

I don't have to ask about the thickness - that's pretty much strictly cosmetic these days.

The natural assumption is that "big and thick" was strictly a road house babe issue from the OP but since you tossed the eye issue out there one wonders if some degree of function isn't lurking in the depths of the specification. Recommendations along the lines of Sea Hunter would make sense if there's no need for legibility, low reflection or, for that matter, telling time - it's strictly a vulgar fashion statement. If, on the other hand, legibility, low glare and telling time are on the table different recommendations would result - though likely not exclusively diver's watches due to the amount of real estate lost to the bezel.

Of course, I guess it's possible you actually read the advice to new posters, zeroed in on item 2 which counsels against asking about a 55 mm Chinese watch first rattle out of the box and just decided to lob one across the bow. Since you're still here and setting a new record for number of posts in an intro thread I thought I'd ask.

Thank you. Great advice. Your absolutely right. Perhaps matte or flat would be better. Yes, the dive watches seem to be all bezel.

Any recommendations for large numericals, but not too crazy.

Koimaster

"Falstaff, do you know where or by whom the Invicta 0741 chronographs are manufactured? Do you have any experience with these chronographs? Are you simply an idiot repeating the mantra of other idiots, or do you have something to share? I have not taken the time to check your contributions to this site; however, you have provided no incentive to do so with what you shared. Best regards, Paul."
@plaverty

Well Paul, try taking me on. The watch is made in China, it has an NE 78 japanese movement which is made in China by Seiko via TMI

We disagree, koimaster, the movements are neither made in China, nor made by TMI as you have repeatedly asserted your posts including above.

The NE series of movements are automatics, each of which has ‘Japan’ marked on the rotor. These movements are made at the SII Morioka Shizuku-ishi Watch Studio in Iwate Prefecture, alongside the SII manufactured 8R28A movements.

Time Module (TMI) manufactures nothing, and never has. TMI is a sales organization for SII and Epson, as is clearly indicated on their home page. The following link will take you to a Seiko document from which the following was excerpted:

http://www.watchtime.at/archive/wt_2010_01/WT_2010_01_044.pdf

"In addition, a Seiko affiliate, Time Module, markets the more than 300 million watch movements that Seiko Epson and SII make each year for companies outside the Seiko Group."

Having taken the above position, I will provide documentation to satisfy you of the veracity my ‘where and by whom’ assertions I have made, or you can satisfy yourself by making the inquiries.

In closing, these remarks, I want to thank you for all of the contributions you have made here and at other sites, and the work you have done in maintaining this forum, all of which have allowed people like myself to make more informed decisions about what they buy. I have the greatest respect for your crusade against everything you find repulsive in IWG, and your no censorship policies on your forum.

Since the OP's highest priorities for the watch are diameter, thickness, and weight (not reliability or readability), there really is only one choice:

The original full-sized Invicter Arsenal.

63mm including the crown.
17mm thick (might be too thin for OP; the SANs and Venom are taller)
385-410 grams depending on sizing.

I don't know that there ever was one made in all black, but there is one with black dial and black center links on the bracelet.

Way too fucking ginormous for me, but whatever...
