That's not a bad idea, Alain...you and Jim have to sleep sometime.

Not a bad idea. We use a capcha here but there is one I saw which moves and you have to line it up. At this site we check emails, IPs and blacklists/spam lists. If you cannot be verified you do not get into the place. Once in awhile I allow a troll in so everyone can play troll ball but with all of the ID thefts and hackers out there it is a risk to all forums to let garbage like that in.

I do the same thing, checking e-mail and IP address for Honey Pot hits and the like...the capcha lets too many in and it would take some time to check them all. If a watch enthusiast wants to join a forum, taking a minute to Google the answer (if they don't know it) won't hurt

So cybersniffer my little troll who just tried to register here - Using a proxy is bad enough, using a throw away mail box makes matters worse

[email protected] but jeez dude, you are on almost every blacklist out there.

I almost let you in but you were not spamming nude kamasutra photos.

Aw, c'mon, John, everyone tries to claim they're a "tube8," but the vast majority are tube4's and tube5's... ;)

WatchGeeks will go down in watch forum history as the worst watch related site that existed. Trolls, threats, bannings, and owners and sponsors talking out of their collective asses to fleece people out of hard earned money. - Koimaster

Well now, since we upgraded the forum I am getting a lot of spammers and such trying to register.
Rather than a regular ban message I try to be creative

Fuck off you god damn little boy fucking bag of shit

Fuck off ass bite. Spread your cheeks for Putin

Mr. Bi-Polar & Mr. Permanent Man-Child say "fuck off"

Really? This mickey mouse DOS attack the best you can do?

Spam belongs in a can. Spammers belong in Jail

As I said, I like to be creative with trolls and spammers.

Just make sure to - every now and then - let in some tosser trying to agitate for their Kickstarter-based microbrand, 'cause we didn't have any of the sodding lot of 'em in a while...
