A New One For Mrs. C

Post by conjurer » September 21st 2017, 6:37pm

Just arrived from my best bros at Jomashop:

For about the last year or so Temerity's been pestering me to buy a Longines HydroConquest--so I finally did, but it's a itty-bitty HydroConquest! Only 29mm, with whatever the ETA movement is that's the downsized 2824. Here it is next to my 41mm SMP:

Cool caseback, too:

Nice finishing, cool crown:

I've been eying the men's HC chrono with column wheel. But right now I'm broke. I figured I'd boughtened some pretty expensive wartchs lately, and Mrs. C has been more than patient, so she deserved one, too.

Cheers!

Wow, you went there! Congrats to Mrs. C.

I still find the H-C to be one of the biggest oxymoron of a watch I've ever experienced - looks big and clunky in publicity photos, wears normal and comfortable in real time. Hope she enjoys it, and that you lock arms sporting your respective divers as you stroll proudly down the square.

And I don't know how you feel, John, but I get every bit as big a kick out of buying the missus a good watch as any other aspect of the hobby. Heck - when we met, my wife wore Kenneth Cole and Swatch, now she wears Bulova Accutron, Omega, and Hamilton.

At 29mm it's a watch that Susan Boyle couldn't pull off. But it's just right for your better half, Saint Mrs. C.

Always with the itty-bitty little things for Mrs. C.

Good choice, John. A real winner.
