Casio G-Shock Square.

Post by codguy » January 29th 2021, 10:54am

.

Look Ma, no hands

Yep, purchased a quartz watch recently, my only one & first one in 3 decades.
Reason for this purchase was I destroyed an automatic watch recently while partaking in my shooting hobby........... I'm sure the recoil abuse from firearms and golfing led to its demise.

Sooooo, due to the reputation of G-Shock, the recent thread of the stainless model started by Lord jason underscore AND the the vast collection of these owned by Lord artman, I went this route.
Hell, if they are good enough for Arty, gots to be good enough for me.

And this one from the WWW

Particulars (short list):

- Made in Japan
- Limited production
- DLC coated titanium case, bracelet and screwed down caseback
- Solar charged
- 200m water resistant
- 110 gram weight
- Radio time setting
- Bluetooth syncing with cell phone
- 200m water resistant
- 110 grams weight
- Super clear STN-LCD screen
- Sapphire crystal with AR coating

And a bunch of other crap.

My initial impressions ......... has more functions than I need, not overbearing size wise and wears comfortably.

It is now my go-to abuse watch, will see how it stands up.

Congrats, great pickup. I don't think you can go wrong with the G-Shock line of watches. Hadn't realized they made a titanium model. I saw a really cool burgundy model that is shaped like yours. I can't keep track of all the different models they have, which is a buttload.
I've had some mudmaster's sitting in my Amazon list for a while, but now that I'm back into reality sized watches it looks hyoooge.

A cool G-Shock, I say!

Been thinking of getting the GW-M5610, the more function-packed derivative of the basic DW-5600 square, but somehow I’m in no hurry.

As for the full metal G-Shocks, at work I’ve placed an order on them a number of times, as people were asking about them. Either the upper echelons or the distributor managed to never send us even one.
I always hope for the best. Experience, unfortunately, has taught me to expect the worst.

A DLC titanium G with sapphire? Fuck yeah. Great choice.

It was cool of Casio to give me a shout-out in the model name.

Dibs when you remember you hate quartz and decide to offload it at pennies on the dollar. Fuck quartz.
