The last for 2020...

Post by biglove » December 21st 2020, 8:15pm

The Ball is my "survived COVID round 1" gift to myself, ordered back at end of summer and arrived today.

Picked up the Breitling from Joma on a great sale.

Figure are a good way to wind up this year.

That Ball looks like a drive-in movie marquee from 1965. And trust me, that's a good thing. What's that model? I wanna read up on that one.

The Engineer III Marvelight Caring Edition. $300 of the price is donated to charity. #52/1000 as I turned 52 last month.

Is my treat to myself after recovering from COVID. Back six years ago a Ball Marvelight was my first watch of value I bought for facing the cardiac issues.

Would prefer they be 38mm instead of 40mm but this one will be handed down to my youngest daughter when I finally dirt dive, hopefully many years from now.

Thanks guys. Has been a great bit of fun reimagining the collection.

Now the test, only buying 1-2 new watches every 1-2 years.

Eyes on the prize

Oh, please. The prize is your next watch, man. I saw a list and 3.75 pages of thumbnails, so to speak, nicely done, too, in another thread, that AIR I lost count of at 214. So, uhh, to one maybe two watches every couple'a years. I see. Sure, why not? It could happen. Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaa.

Hell, there will be more than that before the end of this year. The best stuff at JOMA for delivery after Christmas is yet to come. And isn't this like your fourth this is it for 2020, thread? Maybe the fifth. You might as well face it- you're a sick, sick man, you got this thing of ours bad and it ain't going anywhere, at least I hope not- I still hope to be a little flush next time you're flipping something I can't live without, goddammit.

EDIT: I rest my case

^^^ It is these damned watch companies' fault. I had written the Certina Diver off as a choice due to size, then BAM, 38mm. 🤬😂

I’m with flushes... restricting your buying demands is like promising to work out every day, starting on New Year’s Day.

Sure, sure... it’s noble and it shows you care! But who the hell are you kidding? Life is too short for self-imposed rules! If you’re upright and accumulating more OT than you care to because we are so fucking terrible with our virus containment, then damn it follow your damn heart! Do it. DO IT!!

Nice!

Another RN and I were talking today that we are fortunate to be able to work all we want and be well paid for it.

Has pretty much always that way but especially so now.
