Laco Augsburg Taupe LE Auto

Post by biglove » October 22nd 2020, 5:07pm

My first Laco, basic model-German watch with a Japanese based movent, affordable. Miyota 821A modded as Laco 21. Hacks, nice lume and well made. 39mm but wears way large in height and width. Lug to lug is perfect. Superluminova C1, blue. Sapphire front and back, 5ATM WR, sunray taupe dial.

Soft calf leather strap with great texture and color but won't fit anything over a 7.75" wrist without making your hand go numb. I am on the 2nd to last punch and it is a little too tight. Going to have to get a custom strap, if I keep it. Nice buckle but the damned strap tapers from 18-16mm. WTELFITS?!

Dial color is nice in person but a real bitch to photograph. The length of the hands gives me wood. Damn if they aren't perfect in that aspect. Absolutely easy on the eyes and can tell time at a glance.

Laco Augsburg Taupe Auto, Type A, reference 862125; #037/200. Paid $348, new, with fast, free shipping from Germany.

I have a blue one from the Augsburg line. My question to you: I know you're gonna love the watch, but I wonder if you think the case work is about the best at that price point you've ever encountered? The casework on mine, I'm blown away by. It feels like a luxury watch, the quality was so surprising.

I like it. Could do without the display back, but even despite that, it's just a really good-looking watch.

Agreed. The case is nearly as well done as my Sinn.

Yeah, I am largely over display casebacks unless something is outstandingly well decorated. I would rather have a display back on my GS, the gold 9F is far more attractive to stare at regardless of no moving parts visible.
