First Damasko

Post by biglove » September 28th 2020, 4:36pm

New arrival. Damasko DA38.

One quick pic and hope to get it sized tomorrow.

Initial impression...D A M N ! ! !

The quality of the new Sinn 556A-RS is impressive but the Damasko is a step above. What a finish; deep matte black dial and the day/date and blue seconds hand... Just striking.

Bought it from a young anesthesiologist who bought it from Gnomom in 2018. Looks unworn.

Appreciate all the recs from fellow Lords.

Finally got it sized. Knew it was going to take some minutes to add a couple of links; more like an hour. German engineering at its finest. The bracelet is ridiculously complicated as every side and center link is separate. Masochistic engineers. Jeebus.

But damn, it is comfortable, indestructibily well built and some kind of beautiful.

The previous owner broke a couple of Torx screw heads. Marc at Island Watch is shipping replacements out to me, no cost and no questions asked. Mad props to Marc.

Holy crap - how did I miss this? That thing is the shizznet!! I love the muted tone and perfect legibility at any and all angles. That really is a perfect three-hander.

I do not recommend you put it by the Sinn in the future because the Damasko illustrates how the hands on the Sinn - although it looked just right before - now the hands on the Sinn are clearly too short!

Plus that blue seconds hand... that’s just cool.

Dig it, man - enjoy!!!
