Watch Review Blog: With A Straight Face, No Less.

Robert Gattshall and Bazinga! - move over!

Would you take a watch review site seriously that contains this line:

Dynamic. Bold. Decisive. Fun. These are just some of the top adjectives that quickly come to mind in any discussion of the Invicta 17869SYB Excursion Watch.

Published by someone called Matthew Catellier, the site is clearly a conduit for his company, Watchpod, which sells watch cases and accessories nobody's ever heard of. Why does EVERYBODY that runs a watch site have to have a tie-in interest? It erases anything broaching actual journalism - how else can you account for glowing, breathless reviews of Invicta, Akribos XXIV, AVI-8, Daniel Wellington (!), Swiss Legend (!!), Stuhrling (!!!), and more, which somehow reside side-by-side with Nomos, Seiko, Rolex, Oris, and others. It’s a miracle, this site; all is always well and oh-so peachy keen cool. Here, let me write for them: “It’s the perfect watch for someone on the go who still wants to remain stylish.” See? It hardly matters what the product is – the reviews are all the fucking same.

Don’t even bother clicking the link.

His review of the Longines Spirit is painful to peruse.

He writes like a 5th grader, FFS
