This year's WatchTime Fair Is Virtual
As I guess most of you know, the past four years or so I have attended the annual fall WatchTime watch fairs here in NYC, always held the world's biggest and most beautiful former bank, Gotham Hall. I've posted photos of a lot of watches from the fairs (such as they were), and I really enjoyed going each fall. It's become almost a rite of passage - particularly since Worn & Wound has another big event around the same time.
Well, yeah, coronavirus. In addition to fucking up my life something royal, it's pretty much cancelled most indoor events for the foreseeable future. In that light, WatchTime has changed this year's event to a virtual fair - and all of you can finally attend one. Tellin' ya, it's worth it. And it's cheap, cheaper than actually attending. From WT:
October 21-24, 2020
Wednesday 5pm EDT
Thursday - Saturday | Panels start at 9am EDT
We are very excited to keep the connection between collectors and watch brands strong this year. WatchTime LIive brings the best of WatchTime's live events to you in a new virtual format featuring watch brand presentations, industry panel discussions, and interactive conversations between collectors and brands.
WatchTime Live is accessible from anywhere in the world! The event will be live streaming via Zoom so please have the most updated version on your device.
You will have the chance to see brand CEO’s (Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen), founders (Maximillian Büsser, Founder of MB&F), and watchmakers (Laurent Ferrier and Stephen Forsey) all LIVE. They will be participating live from places like Geneva, Dubai, and Mexico. See the event schedule for all speaker information. Ask your questions LIVE at every panel. This is face to face or video to video!
This year's brands: Oris, Grand Seiko, Seiko, U-Boat (!), Vacheron Constantin, Reservoir, G-Shock, MB&F, Laurent Ferrier, Norquain, Grubel Forsey, IWC, Jacquet Droz, Ebernard, De Bethune, Chopard, Carl F. Bucherer, Bremont, Brequet, Blancpain, Bell & Ross, A. Lange, and Accutron (!).
