Issey Miyake

Post by svaglic » August 9th 2022, 8:24am

Since he just died I figured I better get one of his watches before they go up in price.
He worked with Seiko on some watches.
This store sells on eBay too, they messaged me that their Issey’s are new in the box, they no longer have a contract to sell them so they are blowing them out the door.
I got this
https://www.ebay.com/itm/283966347867

One left, I got it because of the bracelet, but this dealer has others for cheaper.

This store is selling them for way cheaper than anyone, I figured they don’t know he died yet.
In memory of TB/Phfluff, since he isn’t here to continue to give his praise, I will share it for him.

That case sits up waaaaay too high in relation to the bracelet/lug mounting point.

Exclusively, investment or whatever--------- hard pass for me.

It’s not for everybody, but it’s something in conjunction with Seiko. That’s why I got it. I may or may not wear it, with it being new in the box I may just let it sit. I don’t think I will lose money on it.

I don't see any baubles appreciating in the short term but I hope you prove me wrong.
I like that it is in conjunction with Seiko. His name is big in fashion and it’s either a love or hate it I guess. I would have liked the automatic chronograph, but that was too high dollar for me. He has some nice looking quartz watches, but they are quartz. They sell for decent though, even used.
I have an Alba, a J. Springs, two GSX in conjunction with Seiko with the 4s15, Yema with the 4s15 when it was under Seiko and now this. Just something I thought I needed.

I didn't realise you have the GSX 4S15. Too cool! This Morrissey will be a great fit in your collection.
