Evant Decodiver Fume Black or Fume Sky Blue
I like these, but 2 Evants are enough for me at present...powered by an Elabore grade ETA2824-2 automatic movement...
Decodiver Fume Black - Ltd Production
US$499.00
In early 2017, Evant introduced their debut model, the Tropic Diver. The collection was concluded in late 2017 in its bronze iteration. The extremely well received models were sold out within a matter of days. For 2018, Evant came up with a whole new design from ground up. Meet the Evant Decodiver. The Decodiver will be made in limited production and available in two references, the Decodiver Fume Sky Blue and the Decodiver Fume Black.
Case
The diameter of this watch is 41mm and a relatively short lug to lug of 49mm. The lugs to lugs dimensions of only 49mm coupled with the angled lugs design makes this watch both extremely comfortable and wearable on all wrist sizes. Evant has manage to keep this watch only at a height of 12mm despite it being a 300m/1000ft diver watch, keeping svelte in proportion. The form factor is something that we highly appreciate nowadays.
The case design is reminiscent of vintage watches made in the 1970s. The clear cut proportions, exhibits Evant's use of modern watchmaking techniques and machineries. Defined edges, steep lines and flat surfaces seamlessly exhibit minimal design. This attention to details is clearly shown throughout the watch. In our opinion, the watch is heavily inspired by Mr Gérald Genta's work.
In addition, the Evant Decodiver is finished with multiple intricate finishings. Almost every surface is finished differently that we think listing them in point form will only give them justice, so here we go:
1. Top surface – Circular satin brushed
2. Connecting lugs surface – Polished
3. Sides of case – Vertical brushed
4. Thin bevel that runs from length to length – Polished
5. Crown guard - Polished
6. Sides of bezel – Polished
A lot of thoughts has gone into the mix of finishing for the Decodiver where every intersecting surface is met with a different finishing; brushed with polished and vice versa.
With the mixture of finishing gives the Decodiver an upmarket feel, that are found usually in timepieces that cost a lot more. One can definitely admire it every time light hits on the different surface of the watch, bringing out a sense of occasion.

Ebels are a lot like women that lack a low cut dress that zips up the side...neither get the love that they deserve...
