Evant Tropic Diver Finale...

Post by Thunder1 » December 15th 2017, 12:48pm

I just picked up a fume dialed version in bronze for $500.00...s/b here by XMAS..worth checking out I think...since Breguet only made around 60 examples of the No.1646 in 1965, this is probably as close to it as most of us will likely ever come..

Tropic Diver Finale
Limited Edition to 100pcs

In December 2015, a group of passionate watch collectors, miraculously came together by chance. And over whisky, decided that we wanted to give the big watch companies a shake up. Coming from different backgrounds, watchmakers, engineers and architects, decided that we will design, manufacture and fund this project independently.

Creative Direction
We love dive watches. Especially dive watches from the 60s and 70s.
But they are usually too beaten up or too expensive when remade by the big boys.
Every department at Evant had input on our first project and after months of discussion and research into our archives and collection of watches.
To create a timeless appeal, we took design cues from the 60s. With this in mind our design team hit the drawing board and this is where we move into the details.

I came dangerously close to getting the green dial last week and probably would have if they had put minute markers on the dial or bezel (or both)
More than satisfied my bronze Jones with the Steinhart though.
The Finale is a gorgeous watch and won't be around long. These sell out fast.

Thought you might have noticed it if you were on the Gnomon site last week...I just can't find room for both the black and amber colored dial faces...

Those are nice. Not $629 nice but still interesting.

Not awful; I bet they look better in real time. But a watch company that's 90 percent "out of stock" two weeks before a holiday? Really? Are they slovenly, or just trying to create faux "demand" and "exclusivity"? That kinda stuff makes me crazy; it's ridiculous. You're a company and you're telling me you have something new and exciting to sell me, but you don't have any to sell me. Only in watches, man.

All of the versions of the Tropic Diver were/are limited to 100 pieces. Last week only 5 remained of the green when I was looking.
The one just released will probably be gone soon too.

Looks like a clusterfuck of hipster design ideas. I expect a beard is required to order one of these.
Meritocracy: the privilege, wealth and advancement of those who chose their parents wisely.
Capitalism: a cult that promised to do good for the worst reasons.
Nationalism: a profound longing to go back to a past that never existed.
