My ancient attempt to understand tide watches resulted in my forehead bleeding.

They work fine on the Atlantic coast, start to go to pieces on the Pacific coast and don't work at all for the Gulf of Mexico. Something about the east being semidiurnal, the west being mixed semidiurnal and the Gulf of Mexico being just plain intractable. The Bogans are cursed to have all three throwing diurnal into the mix. Lord Bedlam probably has them memorized.

I believe the Red Bar patrons have to calibrate for a specific part of the Pacific coast and still have to monkey with it weekly to keep it from chasing squirrels. I like it anyway.
