Invicta Sandstone Dial Report

Post by koimaster » December 20th 2010, 8:38am

Item - Watch Dial

One Invicta watch dial. The dial is black in color, measures approximately 36.60 mm in diameter and 0.35 mm in depth. The dial material consists of synthetic materials, quartz & a polymer composite with metallic flakes. Due to the heavy polymer a refractive index is not available.

Please note the description by Invicta is Sandstone enhanced with goldstone. Goldstone is glass not polymer. For those who a naysayers and will be running to tell JS, the legal department of Shopnbc has been provided this document already.

As a follow up I asked Linda at Pacific Labs to clarify for me.

Hi Alain,
The dial is a mix of particles in synthetic quartz. Sandstone is not a synthetic and does not come in a black color. It does not contain the metallic flakes that are present in this dial. If a stone is synthetic, it is man-made and cannot be called natural. Many crystals are referred to as “Sapphire”, but they are also synthetic. Also, Sandstone is an amalgam and is not hard enough on its own to form the dial. Does this help?

Damn Chinese, not building the watches to Eyals exacting specs. Remember, "no one is lying to sell you a watch."

No...that's from a bad batch of "sandstone" dials that came from another supplier he had no control over but specified genuine sandstone...but all the rest are genuine sandstone dials...right now he's having loud conversations with that supplier...

Invicta should be made to pay for a 30 second blurb at the top of and at the 1/2 of every hour during each watch show, whether it is an Invicta show or not for the next 30 days on there misrepresented watch and offer full refunds to include all shipping and handling charges to and from ShopNBC for any and all customers who want a refund.

Ya know its not only the recent offerings but this goes back to almost a year ago with that special Lupah that flopped for them.

It also makes me wonder if any of the meteorite dials are legitimate or not.

The management at the schizophrenic Disney Land isn't going to like this.
This is sad, they had a chance to come clean and they didn't. They completely brought this upon them selves but will blame the "hater" sites on their fourm. The sheep will continue to follow them over the cliff.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

You can lead a WG to indisputable facts, but you can't make it think.

As satisfying as it is to read IWG's latest out-and-out lie, it's in no way surprising. Not in the least; it's like a blaring headline that Pamela Anderson had breast augmentation surgery. Ain't no shocker.

Thanks, koi, as always. And to the others here for busting open watches they paid good, hard-earned money for just to get to the truth.

The truth, you know, the stuff you never seem to hear when an IWG "timepiece" is presented on TV.
WatchGeeks will go down in watch forum history as the worst watch related site that existed. Trolls, threats, bannings, and owners and sponsors talking out of their collective asses to fleece people out of hard earned money. - Koimaster

Stamped Polypro with a metal flake mixture suspended in the resin or colorant. Who would of guessed? I'll have to ask my friends at Dow and BASF if they produce this mixture for anyone in China. If it's real metal flake, they may use a blowing agent like Nitrogen to keep it suspended in the mixture or gas assist in the Barrel.

Alain, did she tell you what type of resin was used? e.g. Polypro, Polyolefin, ABS, Polycarb, etc?

Exactly....but even more frustrating is when you tell people the truth and they respond with anger and insecurity.
Probably a good time to hit the bottle and repeat, it isn't so, it isn't so.

I did not ask but I will send her an email to see if they know or can make an educated guess
