So both the sandstone and bremont clone arrive today

Post by koimaster » December 7th 2010, 7:24pm

First thing I notice is the so Called Sandstone dialed watch is a return. And it has a small flaw in the dial. Photos tomorrow. Second thing, the bremont clone is CRAP! They should be paying people to take this piece of crap from Invicta. Cheap rubber strap, cheap dial cheap everything.

The damn bremont clone is apparently a return also but I cannot say for certain. I am sure though that some idiot in Minn will claim that it was inspected and not a return. Read my lips those at slop, the watch is a return.

Lucky for me they are not for personal use. One is for testing and the other for Bremont to look at. If these were for my personal use I would hope there would be someone to give an intervention

by purchasing these test watches from shop, I have a reference point to refer to as a source. No one can say that it was a mistake on the part of WoW or another site. I am using the description from shop as a pointer for the gemologist and the description of the bremont clone for them.

As a starting point, I noticed the cheese boxes are much smaller than the last one I saw. I am guessing 25% or more difference in size.

The Bremont clone came as the photo shows, with the plastic covering part way off. I suspect both are returns. The black & green POS really is cheap. If it cost more than $4.00 to make and ship I would be surprised. As to the sandstone watch with diamonds, another POS in my opinion. We shall see what the testing lab comes back with. I am paying for a written appraisal.

I am looking for a potential deceptive trade practices claim for those who have purchased these so called "sandstone dials". No one has been offered a full refund including shipping or an apology for this BS nor any other crap that has gone on.

We dump on Skelton, Lalo, and Turdling, but IMHO ShopNBC is that much worse. Like someone else here posted, if you don't order something that's brand new, there are very good chances you'll be receiving either a returned or damaged watch. I don't care if a person is ordering a $20 beater - people deserve new, unopened merchandise for their hard-earned money.

I can't count the number of posts I've read on many watch sites of people complaining about receiving returned watches. There's no excuse for it. And that's why that "cluster fuck" of a network hasn't gotten a penny of my own hard-earned money since 2008 - the year they sent me TWO wrong watches in successive orders. ShopNBC tries to depict itself as "the biggest watch shows on planet earth" (Tim Temple's BS), but they simply can't get it done - and the fucking FTC really oughta come down on their crap, and hard. People getting damaged, returned merchandise sold as new is just so fucking outrageous.

I went to war with the geeks when I was at WG's.
They said it's perfectly OK to order every color of a watch and "try them out". This was even condoned by Skelton.
I said I didn't want someones skuzzy cooties on my new watch...I sure got a ration of shit over my stance.

Same here, some jackass was talking about a watch he had sized and worn for a week and then decided he didn't like it and was going to return it to shop. I had to say something about it, but it just went over his head.

So a bit of an update. I had a watch guy remove the dial and photographed it as it was being done. Had the diamonds on the bezel of the "sandstone dial" checked. After some difficulty putting the testing instrument on these small chips, they tested as diamonds or spit diamonds as the jeweler called them.

Watchmaker said the watch in his estimate cost $10-15 max to make. Huge cheap plastic piece in there to hold things in place. This is claimed to be a "swiss parts movement" so if my camera caught it, in lettering so small we had to use a loupe to see it, the words china on it.

jewelers first impression of the dial, cheap glass, goldstone and no hint of real sandstone. She used a loupe also but she was just the asst manager of a jewelry store so tomorrow the gemologist looks at it.

Thanks for the update Koi, so far the diamonds on your watch under the Hubble tele checked out as diamond dust. Waiting on the update for the "natural" sandstone.

The Bremont is well under way for making a bad day for others.
