Why Invicta & geek threads get bumped up

Post by koimaster » April 22nd 2020, 3:47pm

So why do threads about invicta or the now dead "watch" forum known as watchgeeks get bumped up?

Is it that I have a unquenchable hatred of Invicta? No, I do not. I have a lot of contempt for them as a company and as a victim of their proxies against myself and my family. I also loath what they have done to the WIS community as a whole with their lies, coverups and deceptive trade practices.

From fake swiss factories to donations to soldiers of watches claiming to be worth thousands when in fact they were being sold on informercials for just over $100. Fake diamonds, fake relationships with real Swiss vendors and the deletion of threads and bannings of members who just asked for an honest answer.

In relationship to Glycine, the story given about the company has morphed a bit on the last two years and we know that a company in China probably makes parts of the watches and that is fine as long as they meet the legal requirement of "Swiss Made". Do I think that Glycine is junk or not as they claim to be as far as the quality of the watches go? Not at all. I won two Combat subs and ordered a third yesterday. One day I will find an Airman at the right price as well.

The threads get bumped in most cases by me for newbies to make sure they have a chance to look before the leap into purchasing a watch from invicta or ANY company for that matter. The threads are part of our history and part of what the WIS community went through in the past.

I am not willing to forget the watchgeek community and what they were, what they did not just to myself but to many, many people. From changing signatures of members to reading private messages. From attempted blackmail to out right threats against other members, bloggers and other forums. By remembering, we can avoid the mistakes and the false claims some companies make even today. One need only look at some kickstarter brands these days and even well established brands from Swatch shade the truth at times. Doxa is another brand which has shaded the truth when in fact there was never a need to but they made themselves look like invicta and had their own version of granny lalo in dirk pitt.

A lot of the threads are in fact funny to read and some not so much but one just needs to look on the portal and if you see a thread you do not like, avoid it, do not click on it.

Dig it. It provides a great resource and important fact-based information available to those who seek it. And it’s entertaining!

To those weird-ass, robotically-buying, basement-dwelling fanbois... hey, more power to ya’ - enjoy your ostentatiously-awful flame-fused crap.

But there is absolutely no way to justify the ludicrously outrageous actions of a corporate culture that has proven itself corrupt, from the top down.

And this eloquent summary frames it perfectly:
“ By remembering, we can avoid the mistakes and the false claims some companies make even today. ”
”Russian Warship - Go Fuck Yourself!”
