When I first cracked off the piece with a razor blade, I was fully expecting a sticker. One thing I have not said, and you cant see by my pics, with a loupe, I can see that the plastic or glass is clear dyed blue with glitter particles suspended in it. The light blue paint on both the back of the dial and the brass face plate, I think, is there to disguise any possibility of the brass showing thru, altho, I thought at first it was like the back coating on a mirror.......I will keep digging into it

The big question here is......is this news getting to the silly WGs? Oh, that's right, we're just a hater site...I can't wait to see Jim Skelton's latest BS explanation about how sandstone watch dials are made, this is gonna be RICH....

Spread the word, far and wide - IWG has taken its buyers on another ride to SHAMTOWN!

Temerity, that was my whole point. when I first got this watch, I said to my self that the face was too "perfect" and over the top to be real, and curiosity got the best of me......I think that there are enuf visitors here on a daily basis that the news will travel fast.

Not sure Jimmy will try and explain this one. Would not be surprised if Uncle Eyal tells him to keep his trap shut until they all work out the "explanation". If the heat gets too much, Jim might mysteriously suffer another sandwich related injury or perhaps sprain his wrist while attempting to lift the latest SAN monstrosity. Either one will prevent him from being on the computer due to the massive amounts of pain killers his team of doctors will have him on.

I agree with sandoz. I believe we all owe geeknomo a delicious sandwich selection or perhaps a hot dog or hamburg. Or maybe we can pick him up a Bosn's Mate Sammy or Crab Wonder at the next WG Ultra Mega National Meeting/Fish Fry.

OMFG! That would be TOO good...get us a few awesome WatchLords golf shirts, then invade WGs like we're the NWO on wrestling...that would just be too hilarious...I bet 50mmWhenUp would be the first one ducking under the table....omg, I can't stop laughing at this concept. I say five of us could take on the whole bunch of 'em...

with our wits. Remember that..we'd confuse 'em into blubbering.

It's like this you luddish technophobic haterz...you take your ordinary piece of high-sparkle midnite blue sandstone, flame-fuse it in the high heat and pressure which erupts inside George The WatchGestapo's head the moment he encounters an outlier from the herd, and slice it wafer thin with the Invicta deathbeam. Jim Skelton told me so.

geeknomo,

You're the man. Yet, I still believe there's lots of Chinese guts on watches marked "Swiss" out there....many more models than we've seen. Just a hunch of course, I don't know whatever would lead me to believe such a thing...maybe I've spent one too many a night falling asleep with the TV on, only to look up at 3 am to see the horrifying visage of Michael "Denaka & Dunkin' Donuts" Turdling droning on about an Invicta Sports Quartz. More horrifying than Hostel II when jostled awake like that.

So the Invicta "sandstone" dial is little more than blown glass with glitter in it. Superb work GNMO.

This calls into question the authenticity of the other "gemstone" dials Invicta has been peddling lately. Tiger's Eye, Malachite, and Lapis have all been used lately in recent Invicta II models. I bet they are the same. Blown glass with swirl patterns.

Even if the used sandstone ...(which I don't know for sure) the amount used is so insignificant, that calling it a sandstone dial is a stretch, in typical Invicta fashion....

How do we know that you didn't already have that fake sandstone dial in the first place...I, for one, am calling bullshit!

The next thing that you are going to tell me is the Gibeon Meteorite dials aren't really from Namibia, but only Saigon Meteorite made from Mike "30 pack Fridays" Turdling' recycled beer cans!
