Congrats to Temerity and Koi - Invicta caught

Post by Hawk » November 2nd 2016, 12:05pm

Behold what thou hast wrought.

http://www.fhs.swiss/file/6/Annual_report_2015_web.pdf

Open the PDF and scroll to page 31 of the report or page 33 of the PDF and behold the picture embedded in the 2015 Annual Report of the Swiss Federation.

My apologies if this is old news - the report certainly has some age to it. But it does explain why the Evine hosts have announced that Invicta will no longer be marking reserve product "Swiss Made".

If memory serves some here have been trying to awaken the sleeping giant for some time and it appears to have happened.

N.B. I found it at WIT but that does not make it any the less delightful.

Verdammt, fick, indeed.
That is a pretty clear statement. Now I think the whole bloody lot of You should get the Swiss medal of honour. Only that the Swiss don't issue no medals, no sir. But at least They could send some cheese.

And who else but Invicta pictured as the counterfeit? The most feared or the most fake watch company in the world. I only wish they went on to say what they are going to do about it. Would love to see a huge lawsuit filed and Eyal hightail it back to Panama. Good work fellas.

Well, well! Guess all of our shouting and fact-finding has been right on the money for years...years.

You guys know what I've been saying for years:

They never did - because they couldn't. And now the whole world knows it.

Gotta be honest - this is my second favorite moment I've had since joining here, ranking only an eyelash behind the SO/Hamilton stupidity. But I don't think the congrats should be only to Koi and I - virtually everyone here, members past and present, sounded the alarm years ago: Invicta is a blight on this hobby. Glad to be in that number. Thanks, Hawk; ya made my night tonight.

TemerityB has it right, Every member of this forum, past and present who were banned from watchgeeks and found their way here to the cesspool as some has been has called it, shares in this. While there are two attornies of the Swiss Federation Legal Division including Yves Bugmann who is the head of that department here as silent members, remember how many times members here raised a stink with UrineLive/Shopnbc over the years as well. Add to that other forums with members complaining about Invicta or members from this cesspool spreading the word and providing facts to those other forums as "haters" as they have been called. Eventually it was bound to raise a few eyebrows in the land of cheese. Feel free to use the below photo elsewhere.

Dear Alain,

Thank you for your e-mail. In their advertisement they mention the declarations of origin which are issued by a Swiss chamber of commerce. We will have to contact them again, one of my colleagues will do this next week!

Kind regards

If you go evine these days you will see that invicta watches are now labeled by country of origin such as China or the like. I contacted Evine to call them out on several Invicta watches labeled Swiss Made including Item #641-167 (not pictured). I included the PDF listed by the OP.

If any watch company makes the blatant false claims that Invicta and other tv brands or some forum brands have done, then we as a forum will call them out on it. Doxa despite all of their threats to the forum or me finally admitted on a thread at WUS that they were a forum watch. Quite a change from the previous claims. Stolas and their owners called out here and elsewhere. Collectors here and elsewhere, be it WUS, DWC, WF, Purist, TZ-UK and others have the responsibility to inform buyers and collectors to beware, to take a hard look at the watches they purchase and make certain they are the real deal and not a cheap, poorly made product.

Kudos to the members here.

Be sure to check out that next-to-last line in the bottom photo at Koi posted. Most of the IWG crap at Bovine now states things at the bottom of the page such as "Movement made in Switzerland. Final assembly changed to China, effective 9/15/2016." My translation: "For years, we've been stating that this crap was Swiss made, but now we can't because the FH finally put its foot down." More than about time!

Bam....Invicta has finally been busted. Great digging, koi and Hawk - I had no idea that the Bovine hosts have had to change their tune so drastically. This has all been a long time coming, and I was beginning to doubt anything would ever get done. Apparently, it has, and in a big way.

Since this forum has been around, it has really done a lot of good. I've gotten off my soapbox of late since I tend to repeat myself, but I've found what companies like Stuhrling Original, Invicta, and Swiss Legend have done at times has been an outrage, all done to bilk consumers out of hard-earned money. It's good that IWG has to stop bullshitting (to an extent), but I get the feeling they'll never fix their products. Not my concern; I no longer trade with them. We've tried to educate some, they ignored us, yet everything we ever claimed about their precious yellow-boxed brand has been true.

Here's something else I've learned since joining here:

Best watch forum ever.

Particularly the WIT "brain trust" - on the thread where Hawk found the FH report, LoadGloria has posted memes of a Gumby beating a dead horse; others (you can guess who) are just chiming in with the usual "I'll buy what I like."

Imagine living lives without being able to discern quality. Or value. Or any semblance of taste.

Point and laugh.

Well, to be fair gumby's unfortunate horse preceded the FH report which accompanied the necromantic ritual which raised the thread from the dead.

After the resurrection RW actually did an assist by posting the link in living color. Somebody dropped a Roscoe Coltrane meme. Prior to the resurrection it was the usual unsettled debate over Swissness which might be considered old stuff. The only new information early on was that the on-air talent was noting the change in marking and trying to bury the turd by suggesting it was due to the tightening FH specs in 2017. The implication being it was Swiss right up until the FH jacked another 10% into the equation which was, of course, bullshit as the damn product had never complied with even "pre-tightened" criteria.

I guess I don't really have much of a problem with an informed Invicta buyer - I mean if they know it's Chinese, that Flame Fusion is glass and that the top 10% of Swiss watchmakers have never heard of Eyal, what's the harm? It was uninformed Invicta buyers that made me grind my teeth - the ones that actually believed the horseshit.

Hawk, you are a fair and learned person. You have far more patience for the WIT regulars than I do. I used to have high blood pressure; I've lost a bunch of weight and took some medicine and I'm finally in good staid again. However, I honestly believe that at least 50 percent of the change is due to the fact that I hardly look at WIT any longer. I can take suffering, or leave it alone.
